Counter-terrorism agent Jack Bauer races against the clock as a terrorist plot threatens the nation with disaster. On the day of the California presidential primary, he works to stop the planned assassination of U.S. Senator David Palmer, while the people behind the attack will do anything to carry out their revenge against both Bauer and Palmer.
