In Los Angeles, socially awkward millennials Esther and Benji lean on each other as they try to find a place among the city’s vain, status-obsessed elite. He is rich, self-conscious, and unmotivated; she is broke, freeloading, and self-centered. Their strictly platonic friendship can be contentious, but when it matters, they have each other’s backs, mostly because neither has anyone else to hang out with.
