In the isolated Oregon town of Cispus Falls, a middle-school teacher grows concerned about an enigmatic student who seems to be hiding something dangerous. As she and her brother, the local sheriff, are drawn deeper into the boy’s troubled world, his dark secret begins to point toward terrifying encounters with an ancestral creature and consequences that could threaten the town.
