Belle

In 18th-century England, Dido Elizabeth Belle, the illegitimate mixed-race daughter of Royal Navy officer Sir John Lindsay, is raised within the aristocratic household of her great-uncle, Lord William Murray, the 1st Earl of Mansfield. As she grows up between privilege and prejudice, Dido comes to play an important role in England’s campaign to abolish slavery.
