Successful mystery novelist Richard Rick Castle joins forces with NYPD Detective Kate Beckett and her homicide team to investigate complex murder cases in New York City. After a serial killer copies the plots of Castle’s books, the Mayor gives him permission to observe the team for research, placing the author inside real investigations alongside the detective.
