In the 1980s, a young Italian-American from the wrong side of the tracks finds himself drawn to a Jewish girl from Long Island. Their connection brings together two people shaped by different backgrounds, communities, and expectations, setting up a romance defined by the distance between where they come from and the feelings that pull them toward each other.
