Homicide detective John Hobbes is present when convicted serial killer Edgar Reese is executed, closing a brutal case that should be over for good. But soon after Reese’s death, a new series of killings begins. The crimes bear a disturbing resemblance to Reese’s methods, forcing Hobbes to confront the possibility that the killer’s style has somehow continued beyond the execution.
