The film begins two years after the events of the first film, with Detective Peters (Frank A. Lama reprising his role) at the Doctor (Neil Conway)’s office, who reveals to Peters that he has Creutzfeldt–Jakob disease (CJD), and there is no treatment; it’s fatal.
