Bill, an idle and unemployed aspiring writer, spends his days walking through crowded London and following strangers chosen at random, using the habit as a way to gather material and pass the time. What begins as a seemingly harmless private game turns dangerous when he crosses paths with a mysterious thief, who takes him under his wing and pulls him into a more risky world.
