In 1987 Oakland, a mysterious force moves through four interconnected stories about the city’s underdogs and the things that shape them: music, movies, people, places and memories beyond the knowable universe. Teen punks defend their turf from Nazi skinheads, a rap duo fights for hip-hop immortality, a weary henchman sees a chance at redemption, and an NBA All-Star looks to settle the score.
