From Hell

In 1888 London, Scotland Yard inspector Frederick Abberline investigates a series of murders attributed to Jack the Ripper. An opium-huffing detective drawn into the fear and danger of the city’s streets, Abberline becomes emotionally involved with one of the killer’s prostitute targets as his search points toward the question of the Ripper’s true identity.
