Neil Hackett drives his loyal wife Fiona and apathetic teen-aged sons to the Lake District, where they have bought a holiday lodge - which is, to put it mildly, somewhat ramshackle. Not only do Neil’s attempts at repair end in disaster but he is annoyed that Fiona is charmed by handsome neighbour Robert, in his de luxe chalet, who, unlike his snobbish wife Penny - is keen to be friendly.
