Just before the fall of the Berlin Wall, an East German family gathers for a birthday celebration that exposes the strain of a changing world. Long committed to German Communism, they find themselves caught on the wrong side of history as political certainty gives way to private doubts, old loyalties, and personal fractures in a tragicomic moment of breakdown.
