Drake and Patty buy a Victorian house in San Francisco, hoping rental income will help secure their future. After working to renovate the property and become landlords, they take in Carter Hayes as a tenant in the studio. But Carter has his own agenda, and he uses tenant laws to undermine them, turning their dream home into a source of mounting financial pressure and psychological strain.
