A young man meets an engaged woman and falls for her at once, despite the fact that her life is already pointed toward someone else. Caught in the ache of unrequited love, he begins writing about what he is going through, turning his feelings, hopes, and disappointments into material as he tries to make sense of an attraction he cannot easily set aside.
