Polina grows up in a modest family with a gift for classical ballet, dedicating years to the discipline and demands of academy training. When she is accepted by the Bolshoi, a prestigious future seems set before her. Instead, as a young woman, she is drawn toward modern dance and choreography, leading her to audition for a contemporary company in France and follow a path beyond the world she knows.
