In the early 1900s, young Montreal heiress Sara Stanley is sent by her wealthy father to live in the small town of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island. Staying with her late mother’s relatives, including her maiden aunts Hetty and Olivia King, Sara adjusts to a new home while growing up among family, neighbors, and the everyday adventures of town life.
