Ruby, a married American woman stuck in a humdrum routine, receives a text from her oldest flame, an aspiring British writer, inviting her to act on a pact they made years ago. Drawn by the promise of true love and self-reinvention, the two ex-lovers step out of their lives and disappear together for a week, only to find their escape plan leading them into trouble as a cop begins to pursue them.
