Zaynab is a thirtysomething lesbian Pakistani Muslim living in Chicago and caring for her sweet, TV-obsessed mother. When she begins a secret romance with Alma, a bold and brilliant Mexican woman, Zaynab is pushed to face her complicated bond with her recently widowed mother and her own questions of identity, love, and belonging.
