Black Panther Party co-founder Huey P. Newton becomes the target of an FBI manhunt and turns to an unlikely ally for help: famed Hollywood producer Bert Schneider. Together, they attempt an elaborate escape plan to get Newton out of the United States and into Cuba, but the risky operation begins to go wrong in every possible way.
