Private investigator Philip Marlowe is called in by wealthy General Sternwood to handle a troubling matter involving Sternwood’s youngest daughter, Carmen. What begins as a family concern soon pulls Marlowe into a tangled case marked by blackmail, deception, and murder, with the possibility of love complicating the danger around him.
