In 1970’s The Cross and the Switchblade, Pastor David Wilkerson arrives in New York City and spends his first years reaching out to disillusioned young people caught up in drugs and gang violence. As his ministry brings him into contact with gang member Nicky Cruz, Wilkerson urges troubled youth to turn away from the streets and toward a different path.
