The Five Pennies

Dixieland cornetist Red Nichols faces resistance to his distinctive sound, but his talent and determination help him break through to success. Along the way, he marries a warm, patient woman and builds a family while pursuing his music. Danny Kaye brings musical comedy to the story, with Louis Armstrong and Big Band figures Bob Crosby, Ray Anthony, and Shelly Manne joining the world of the film.
