The Guardians

In Mexico, an indigenous community faces internal divisions while standing up to illegal loggers in a fight to restore an ancient forest they once nearly destroyed. As the threatened monarch butterfly depends on the same land for survival, the film interweaves the fate of the forest, the people who call it home, and the fragile species whose future is tied to its recovery.
