The Last King of Scotland

In the 1970s, young Scottish doctor Nicholas Garrigan leaves home after completing his education, looking for adventure and a new start in Uganda. He arrives as President Obote’s rule is collapsing and General Idi Amin is rising to power. When Amin asks Garrigan to serve as his personal physician, the doctor is drawn into the inner circle of a brutal dictatorship.
