Eddie Mathews feels trapped in a dead-end job, and his life gets even more uncomfortable when he is forced to move in with his disapproving mother-in-law. Still clinging to his dream of making it in Hollywood, Eddie tries to push his ambitions forward with encouragement from an unusual source: an imaginary, villainous companion who is determined to be brought to life.
