The Professor and the Madman

In the mid-19th century, Professor James Murray begins the enormous task of compiling words for the first edition of the Oxford English Dictionary. As the work grows, he receives more than 10,000 entries from an unexpected contributor: Dr. William Chester Minor, a patient at Broadmoor Criminal Lunatic Asylum whose knowledge becomes part of the dictionary’s creation.
