Waiting for the Barbarians

At an isolated frontier outpost, a colonial magistrate oversees a fragile peace on the edge of the empire. When an army colonel arrives with orders to investigate rumors of an impending uprising, his brutal methods against the local people unsettle the magistrate. As the interrogations intensify, the magistrate is forced into a crisis of conscience over the authority he serves.
